I posted a request for prayer about 1 month ago for a family member (Penny) who was facing cancer surgery for the 2nd time. She has had the surgery and the pathology came back completely negative. Thank you to any amd all who prayed for Penny. God has heard our prayers.

Community Reading Plan

As a community, we want to get to know Jesus through the spiritual practice of daily quiet, prayer, and scripture reading:

Revelation
Read and reflect on the teaching passage from Revelation through the week.

Gospel of John
Read and reflect on a chapter from the Gospel of John through the week.

Psalms
Read and pray a Psalm each day.

Practical Reading Tips

1) Commit to (at least) 15 min a day for quiet reading and prayer.
Embracing this habit may be the most life-changing opportunity.

2) Start with 30-60 seconds of silence, taking deep breaths to quiet your mind and heart. Pray this prayer: “Speak Jesus, I’m listening.”

3) For Revelation and John, read on the first day, or consider re-reading each day, or break into small chunks through the week.

4) Read the Psalm for the day as a prayer, speaking to God and letting God speak to you. Pick one line that stands out to you as your personal prayer for the day.

5) Start wherever you are, not where you think you should be.

Contemplations
Greeting the Dawn

My favourite time of the day right now is between 5-6am. (I know I’ve instantly lost many of you… but stick with me!)

Activities
Gratitude #2

Today we want to engage in the practice of Gratitude. And to do this, you’ll need a physical piece of paper – and something to write with. In our day-to-day lives, it can be easy to focus on whatever feels like it isn’t going the way we want, and slip often into grumbling and complaining. And that behavior can have a very negative impact on our emotional and even physical well-being.

Contemplations
Children of God

Remind yourself that you are God’s cherished kid, and that nothing in this world can separate you from that fierce parental love.
